Powered by Community goes beyond volunteering and writing checks for individual projects and charities. While our staff still commits thousands of hours to fundraise and work with for non-profits, we are also raising the level of expertise with free training in business practices, leadership skills and fundraising methods. These popular seminars have an added incentive: every charity that attends with at least one staff and one board member is eligible to compete for a $1,000 grant, awarded to the group that implemented new practices most successfully. This has dramatically increased board participation in the training.
